I know my credit score, but recently went car shopping and the finance manager pulled up my report that showed my scores were 80 points below what the 3 credit bureaus list it as on my report – She went on to explain that the scores vary based on what type of loan you are applying for – I have never heard of this and can’t find any supporting data – Does anyone know?

As I mentioned in my previous question I am helping a co worker with her credit. One of the collection agencies refuses to send her proof that the debt is hers but one of the 3 bureaus is considering it verified. The only thing she has gotten from the collection agency is a bill saying that $177.?? is owed and yet one her credit report it is only $23.00 reported as owing. She intends to pay but would rather pay 23 than 177 dollars. What happens if she pays the smaller amount?

If I place a credit freeze with the 3 major bureaus, can the local/regional resellers still issue/grant credit reports and scores?

Or if the freeze is in place at the major bureaus – credit file is LOCKED and file not provided to reseller?

I read somewhere that most states have “exceptions” and resellers are one of them.

Answer?

they said our income was no problem just lack of credit is so yes it is believeable that in 3 to 6 months it will happen
yes im talking about identity theft and did work with someone who supposedly would help us,all they did was charge us to do what we could do on our own free of charge and took the stuff that was ours off report that was good but left some stuff on there they should have taken off which we have to pay off causecant get financing if we dont.and companies refuse to remove it said they dont care if its ours or not they want there money

If not all 3, then at least one of the credit bureaus should show a judgment if you have them right?

I can’t call the county court to find out, the clerk says they charge 5 dollars everytime to do that.

Ok I know there are 3 credit bureaus. What I really need to know is where to start or what to do to fix it? My score I know (in 2000) was over 750 but now it’s way low. (bankruptcy and all)

Another question would be – if I had a collection say like 7 years ago do I still need to pay it. What’s that 7 year rule? Or does it matter?

I am clueless on how to fix my credit; can ANYONE help please!!

Thanks in Advance!!!

7 years is just too damn long to answer to some power you can’t even see. I really think the credit bureaus need to go bye bye…and the 7 year b/s has to go too.

It should be ONE company, Government run and your past history runs like your checking account ledger…a company can look up anytime they want and if you have paid your debts on time for the last 2 years then so be it..but they go by a score that is unrealistic in this day and age..it should go by your recent history not what you did 6 1/2 years ago. And btw did you know that if you pay off a bill 5 years into the 7 years it starts the whole 7 years all over again? Do you really think this is fair to people who want to do the right thing..or a mort co. makes you pay an outstanding bill to give you a mortgage and therefore makes your credit actually worse….again because it starts the 7 years ALL over again.
btw..I had an 820 and now because of a bad year its been cut in half…and I have to wait 7 years to repair this? this is b/s.

I have recently been notified that a freeze was placed on my credit back in November of 2007. I did not place the freeze, and was never aware of this taking place.
I’ve never needed or used credit until recently in January when I went to purchase a car. My father co-signed for the loan, so I still got the car, I’m just not getting any credit for making the payments.

The 3 credit reporting bureaus all have the the same information on me, and all have the same time that the freeze was placed on my credit.
Of course, I have to have a 10 digit PIN number, which I do not have, and was never given.

I’ve tried all the phone numbers, and I absolutely cannot get on the line with a real person.
Please, if anyone has dealt with this, and/or has any information on how I can remove the freeze, please let me know.
Thanks

Would it be possible to request positive cell phone bill payment history to be reported to the 3 major credit bureaus to improve credit score?

For 6 months straight, I have been paying my $85 a month cell phone bill on time. I read somewhere that for a fee we can have positive accounts reported to the credit bureaus for the purpose of increasing credit score. Is this true, and can it apply to cell phone accounts or just credit accounts, bank loans, etc.?

Thanks in advance
